Happy Tuesday everyone! Last week, I kicked off a new segment called “Testimonial Tuesdays”. Each week, you will have the opportunity of meeting some amazing people who have changed their life by transitioning toward a Paleo lifestyle. For those unfamiliar with what The Paleo Transition is, it is a program that I created to help people transition from a Standard American Diet toward a REAL FOOD or Paleo Diet. This lifestyle change has helped my members lose weight fast and has drastically improved their mood and energy. I’m excited to share their stories with you.
Sarah Mack joined The Paleo Transition at the beginning of 2014. She works full-time and also coaches fitness classes in the evenings. I think it’s safe to say that Sarah is extremely busy. However, I could tell from the beginning that she was determined to make some positive changes in her life. Not only has she made tremendous progress herself, but she has inspired so many people to also make healthy changes. Sarah has now become one of my affiliate coaches. This means that she has taken extra steps to really learn the program in order to help others succeed with their own transition to a real food diet. Enjoy reading about Sarah! Why did you join The Paleo Transition?
I joined the Paleo Transition because I had eaten Paleo before, but always fell off the wagon. Awhile back, I had surgery and gained a lot of weight and couldn’t figure out why. Of course, I thought I was eating right. I felt depressed for a long time. It didn’t help that I felt crappy in my workouts too. I didn’t like myself for a long time. I started caking makeup on my face and felt like people were always staring at me. My face broke out because of my surgery and stress. I felt like there was nothing I could do about it. On top of that, I was drinking way too much as well.
When I was approached to start the Paleo Transition, I figured it couldn’t hurt to start. I was unhappy with myself and so I jumped onboard.
What were your goals when you first began the course?
When I first began the course my goals were to tone up.
As you went through the course, did you experience any surprising side effects? (Good or bad)
I had to buy all new clothes because I went from a size “6” which means I wish I were a 6 and I refuse to buy anything bigger, to a 2! My focus went from NONE to awesome! I was able to get more work done in my day because I could actually focus on my job. I feel stronger in my workouts, which has helped me as I teach my fitness classes. I used to easily become winded and tired. Now I fly through my classes like it’s nothing!
Eating Paleo-approved foods has made me feel better on the INSIDE as much as out. I used to have a lot of digestion issues that have now all disappeared. I am still an emotional person, but now feel more in control. Before the Paleo Transition, I felt lost and alone. Now I feel happy! I have been through a lot in my life and I am just starting to be able to put it aside and move on with my life! I feel like I am finally in control and feel STRONGER inside and out.
What advice would you give someone who is interested in starting Paleo, but not sure where to start or how to do it?
Take it easy and let your body transition on its own. Don’t worry about it so much. Just listen to your body in order to know how you should be eating. It took me a long time to do that. Make sure that you PLAN and PREP your meals. I have containers full of protein, veggies and healthy fats that I take with me where ever I go. Every time I eat, this is what I eat! I don’t snack anymore and I drink at least 144oz of water each day. Remember that everyone is different. Relax and just begin. In time , your body just tells you what it needs.

Best thing I gained from this course is my new online Paleo family! With the purchase of the course, you become a part of this private Facebook group. They are my support group and I learn so much from them! In addition to this, I have so many people asking me questions because they see my results. I have more and more people trying to follow me in my Paleo lifestyle every day!
