I always enjoy hearing about my clients’ results once they have transitioned to a real food (aka Paleo) diet. Most people experience weight loss, increased energy, and a better mood. After talking with Jamie Eikmeier, however, I was surprised and pleased to hear some of her answers. It’s amazing what good food can do for our bodies. This girl rocked her Paleo transition and is still continuing down the path toward better health!
Jamie Eikmeier is a member of my exclusive online Paleo Transition group. You can learn all about becoming a member HERE. She is a former college athlete and is now a hard-working mother of three. Jamie is currently a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.
You will notice as you read through Jamie’s answers that there were a lot of other crucial factors that were hindering her weight loss, energy, and mood. My next LIVE Webinar will address ALL of these hidden causes that may be preventing YOU from feeling your very best.
This Webinar is FREE and will be full of valuable information. You can’t afford to miss it.
I was always interested in eating Paleo, but I didn’t know where to start and how to do it. I bought a book about Paleo eating a couple years before starting the Paleo Transition, but I never could get myself to follow it. I wanted accountability and motivation alongside other people who were going through the same new lifestyle as me. I also wanted to learn how to cook using Paleo recipes, get my body to feel better, break my weight plateau, and perform better in my workouts. I knew that Terry Shanahan is an expert in nutrition and someone I could trust.
My first goals were to learn how to eat Paleo, and eat better by first off eliminating wheat and dairy in order to greatly reduce my sweet cravings and help rid myself of eczema. I also wanted to gain more energy because I was constantly fatigued and never felt rested, even after a full night of sleep. I also wanted to get leaner.
For the past 15 years, I have always felt super tired to the point where I thought I had chronic fatigue syndrome. I was emotional, depressed and moody (once I had kids). I have always had terrible eczema on my hands since I was in early grade school. I suffered from cracked and dry knuckles, and the top part of the hands would always bleed. I had numerous toxic creams prescribed to me, but none of them worked that well.
Since I started the Paleo Transition (except for when I let a little dairy back in) my hands have been crack-free and the softest they have been probably since I was born! My husband was super skeptical until I had him feel my velvet soft hands.
Also, for the first time since college, I no longer crave a mid-afternoon nap. Actually, it doesn’t even cross my mind now, which is a huge accomplishment! My bloating has gone away, my mood is much better. I have the energy of a teenager! I don’t feel nearly as depressed, my emotions are in control, and I feel SOOOO much better!!! I also am no longer constipated for the first time in a long time, and for once I can call myself regular!
I started eating organic once my first child was born, but that doesn’t compare to cutting out those horrible carbs, soy and dairy. My body has been needing fat and animal protein for decades, and I was totally depriving myself of it because I believed the food guide pyramid/plate, tried eating minimal meat and probably only averaged 30 grams of fat a day, if that. My mind was in such a fog, but that has totally gone away.
The only semi-bad side effect was that while nursing my milk supply went down after the first week, but then I increased my red meat, green vegetable and water consumption and it went back to normal. Oh, I also noticed that my baby’s eczema went completely away! My baby also sleeps better at night (now that he eats Paleo as well) and is so happy and calm. I wish I started my other babies on eating Paleo right away!
I cannot thank Terry Shanahan enough for helping me transition to a Paleo diet and lifestyle. I have resisted the temptations others put on me and feel so in control and empowered because I resisted and don’t want junk in my body anymore. I don’t want to feel the way I used to; like a depressed and bloated zombie. I love the “Paleo High” I feel and love waking up feeling fully energized for the first time EVER! So, thank you, thank you, thank you! I LOVE The Paleo Transition!!!
I would strongly advise them to go through The Paleo Transition nutrition course rather than embarking on their own with this new lifestyle. There could be some blocking factors that might pop up, and if you are on your own and not a part of this group, then it would be so easy to throw in the towel from frustration and not figuring out what’s going on. The Paleo Transition is a sure way for you to succeed while helping you look, feel and perform better than you could ever imagine possible!
There are so many wonderful things I gained from The Paleo Transition that it is hard to name just one.
* I love how I have a clear sense of hunger and satiety. Before joining The Paleo Transition, I was always hungry and never full. I pretty much ate all day long.
* The very best thing I gained from joining The Paleo Transition is that I absolutely love how I have a constant and eternal support group to help and rely on keeping me honest, motivated and knowledgeable about eating and cooking Paleo. This group and course is absolutely priceless, and I cannot thank Terry Shanahan and everyone in The Paleo Transition for all that you taught me (i.e. recipes, comments, emotional support & words of encouragement) while pushing and inspiring me and each other every day!
The Paleo Transition is not just an investment, but it is an investment to yourself, your health and your future. An absolute life changer and life saver – literally!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
